November’s One-Shot: Reflections

November’s One-Shot: Reflections

Congratulations to Brian Nealon on winning October’s Architecture themed One-shot competition.  As the winner it was up to Brian to nominate next month’s One-shot theme and after much pondering and rumination, Brian has chosen Reflections as November’s theme.

Congratulations too, to all the members who entered the competition.  It was by far, the largest entry to date and the quality of images made it a very difficult task to pick a winner.  So please, keep the entries coming and remember, it’s just for fun and there’s a Camera Centre gift voucher for the winner each month.

Reflections is an inspired choice and should give TPS members plenty of opportunity to produce some beautiful images for November.  As always, One-shot photos are entered and judged on the first Tuesday of the month, which gives members until November 2 to get snapping.

Here are some tips for One-shot entries:

  1. Avoid using old photographs from your collection – use the One-shot as an opportunity to get out and take new images
  2. Get creative, and think outside the box
  3. Don’t take one photograph and settle for it – explore the chosen theme and take as many varied photos as the theme will allow and choose your favourite to enter
  4. Finally – aim to please yourself.  If you take a photograph that you’re proud of… you’re already a winner!

Good Luck!
