February’s One-Shot theme

February’s One-Shot theme

Congratulations to Patrick Manning on winning January’s One-Shot Competition, Night Photography!
Patrick has won a voucher for the Camera Centre and the honour of nominating next month’s theme – which he has!  The theme for February’s One-Shot competition is… Things on Flowers.  The “Thing” can be anything you like, as long as there’s a flower in the photo.

Entries should be printed (ideal size: 10″ x 8″) and not mounted.  Entry date is Tuesday, February 1st.

Here are some tips for One-shot entries:

  1. Avoid using old photographs from your collection – use the One-shot as an opportunity to get out and take new images
  2. Get creative, and think outside the box
  3. Don’t take one photograph and settle for it – explore the chosen theme and take as many varied photos as the theme will allow and choose your personal favourite to enter
  4. Finally – aim to please yourself.  If you take a photograph that you’re proud of… you’re already a winner!

Good Luck!
