New Programme and the Coming Season

The programme for the coming season of meetings is now available to view – click on Programme for more details!  The programme is still to be completed and will be updated regularly – any suggestions or ideas from our members are very welcome. The TPS summer outings ended yesterday evening with a visit to the Grand Canal Basin.  A big “THANK YOU!!” to all of our members – old faces and new – who came along each week.  We were lucky with the weather despite it being such a dull summer – but the locations we visited were made all brightened by the company we were in.  Looking forward to seeing you all back at the Rua Red next Tuesday! Yes we’re back in the Rua Red each Tuesday evening from 7.30pm beginning on Tuesday next, September 6th.  We hope to open the season by looking at some of the wonderful images taken on those summer outings by our members! The club One-Shot competitions are also kicking off the new season.  Last May’s winner Catherine MacBride set the theme with “What I did for summer!”  One image per member can be entered – the images are to be printed, no smaller […]

Final Summer Outing – August 30th

The final photographic outing of the summer is upon us this coming Tuesday, August 30th.  We are off to Dublin’s Grand Canal Basin this week, where as the night falls we can photograph the lighting around the Grand Canal Theatre and possibly get some images of the Samuel Beckett bridge and nearby Conference Centre. Meeting as usual in Molloy’s car park at 7.30pm sharp.  See you there!

TPS Outing – Tuesday, August 23rd

This Tuesday, August 23rd, the Tallaght Photographic Society are staying at home! This week features the Tallaght One-Shot Competition Live! The rules are simple: Meet at Molloy’s at 7.30pm Photographs must be taken within walking distance of Molloy’s Photos should be taken in JPEG format and should have NO POST PROCESSING! Meet back in Molloy’s at 9.00pm where you can pick your best photo for submission! Photos will be uploaded on laptop for immediate judging over coffee, drinks and a chat! Of course when you get home you can process your images to your heart’s desire and post on Flickr for the usual weekly One-Shot judging!

TPS Outing – Tuesday, August 9th

Photographic outing this Tuesday, August 9th, to Bull Island in Dublin’s north side.  Bull Island features 5km of beach with Dollymount Strand, back with grassy dunes.  A view of Dublin Bay and Poolbeg Generating Station.  There may be kite surfers and seals have been known to haul themselves onto the beach at the north end of the island.  Meeting in Molloy’s car park – leaving at 7.30pm sharp The Peoples Photography exhibition is on Saturday and Sunday, the 27th and 28th of August and the Tallaght Photographic Society are hoping to have a good presence there this year.  If you would like to submit some prints for the exhibition please let one of the committee members know. The TPS are hoping to organise an outing to Fota Wildlife Park in Cork very soon, perhaps September 4th.  Whether or not the outing takes place depends on interest from members.  If you are interested, email Paul Maxwell for more details and updates.

TPS at the Peoples’ Photography Exhibition 2011

The Tallaght Photographic Society have some space at the Peoples Photography Exhibition on Saturday and Sunday, the 27th and 28th of August at St. Stephen’s Green.  We have space to accommodate around 60 prints representing the club. Any members interested in submitting images for the exhibition, please email Paul Maxwell.  The images must be mounted, so images used for league competitions will be fine.
