TPS Meeting 4th September

Hello everyone, A big thank you to everyone who turned up for the last night of the summer outing, It was great to see over 40 members turn up for the BBQ and Ring of Fire night. A special thanks to Carl, Sarah, Maik and Jon for doing the cooking and making sure everyone had enough to eat and drink. Come Tuesday the 4th September we are back in the Rua Red for 7;30pm This weeks Guest is Dave Mallows, he is from Adobe and will be giving a talk on Adobe Training, Workflow & Post Processing plus some Tips & Tricks. The One-Shot competition entry – Judging night is 11th September. The One-Shot competition is back next month (11th September) and the theme is ”A Lazy Summer” . The winning photographer will get an Eason voucher and will also nominate the theme for the next One-shot competition.. Entries are submitted as prints (no smaller than 10×8 inches if possible and do not have to be Mounted) and by Digital format (they can be sent in by email to info@tallaghtphotographicsociety.com or you can put it on a usb stick and bring it on the night. TPS Outing 28th August

Well, summer is coming to an end and we had a fantastic turn out by members of the Tallaght Photographic Society (plus new members) this year, but this will be our last summer outing before we are back in the Red Rue on the 4th September, so we would like to see as many members (old and new) as possible at our last outing. This Tuesday 28th August is another treat for you. We are going to have another Barbecue with some sausages and burgers for you. We will also putting on a display of steel wool photography, and other light sources. If you have any led lights or any sort of light (torch, laser) that will light up, please bring them along with you. If you are coming on the outing this Tuesday can you just sent me a email or text to say you are coming so we have a rough number sausages and burgers to get. TPS Outing for 21st August

TPS Outing for 21st August, We will be going to the Grand Canal Basin where, as the evening get darker we can photograph the lights in and around the Grand Canal Theatre and perhaps venture onto Sir John Rogerson’s Quay and get some shots of the Samuel Beckett bridge and the nearby Convention Centre. Meet as usual in Molloy’s car park at 7.30pm sharp – See you there!

TPS Outing Tuesday 14th August

Last time we planed to go to Dalkey it was raining and was called off so this Tuesday (14th August) we are going to Dalkey. For those who wish to go straight out we will meet by Dalkey Harbour. We will meet in Molloy’s car park for 7:30pm start (so don’t be late). Prepare for the weather and don’t forget your camera!

TPS Outing 7th August

TPS Outing Our outing this week on the 7th August is to Victoria’s Way. We are being aloud in to Victoria Way after hours and the place is The Indian Sculpture Park and covers about 22 acres of open country and forest. At present there are 22 black granite stone sculptures and 3 bronzes on view, ranging in size from 5ft 6 ins to about 15ft. You can find more info at http://www.victoriasway.eu/index.htm We will be meeting in Molloy’s car park on Tuesday evening for a 7.30pm start (so don’t be late). Prepare for the weather and don’t forget your camera! If you are going straight out, From Dublin take the N11 south towards Wicklow. Turn right at Kilmacanogue towards Glendalough. After about 7 miles turn right towards Sally Gap (Route 759). At the first crossroad (after 600 yards) turn left towards Roundwood. Road L1036. You’ll find the Indian Sculpture Park @ Victoria’s Way, 300 yards up the road on the left. Derek

TPS Salon and Zombie Walk

Hello, First up don’t forget you have only ‎5 weeks to closing for Tallaght International salon of Photographic Art. You can enter at www.tpssalon.com The Dublin Zombie Walk 4th August 2012 St. Stephens Green. 2.00pm Any members want to meet in town on Saturday for the Zombie Walk, we can meet at the start between 12 and 1.0pm. You can find out more at http://www.dublinzombiewalk.com/ I’ll be going in for this (Flash Mob) if you are also interested. Also from The Institute of Photography – Ireland FLASH MOB!! As part of the Dublin Zombie Walk on this coming Saturday 4 August we’re organising a Flash Mob of Photographers to take photos of the estimated 10,000 Zombies that will descend on Dublin that day. As is the nature of Flash Mobs these are open to anyone with any kind of camera. Dave McKane, the Principal of the Institute of Photography, will be on hand to dispense technical and creative support, no matter what your level of expertise is. We will be meeting at 11am at the Statue of Wolf Tone on the north east corner of Stephen’s Green for initial instruction.
