TPS Photographic Outing to Powerscourt Waterfall – Sunday, September 27th

This Sunday, September 27th, we’re off to Powerscourt Waterfall for a photographic outing.  Powerscourt Waterfall is Ireland’s highest waterfall and is located in the foothills of the beautiful Wicklow Mountains. Besides the waterfall, the location has much to offer for photographers with plenty of woodland paths and scenery. The entrance to the falls opens at 10.30am and it costs €5.50 per person to enter, or €5 for students and OAPs. We’re meeting on Sunday morning in Molloy’s car park at 9.30am to car pool.  Bring a bite to eat and drink, as although there is a kiosk there which serves tea, coffee and snacks, it may not be open.  Prepare for the weather… and don’t forget your camera! Next Tuesday, September 29th, is monthly league competition judging with very special guest judge, Patrick Kavanagh LIPF, EFIAP from Palmerstown Camera Club.  Paddy is a smashing photographer with a keen eye for birds, wildlife and travel photography. The very best of luck to all who entered!  🙂

Layers and Textures in Photoshop – September 15th 2015

This Tuesday, September 15th at the Tallaght Photographic Society, we’re taking a look at adding textures and layers to an image using Photoshop. Member Paul Maxwell will be showing us how he adds textures to his photographs to give them a more surreal feel.  He will be doing a demonstration so feel free to take notes and ask questions 🙂 We’re meeting at the Maldron Hotel from 8pm on Tuesday, September 15th. Just a reminder also that there will be a photographic outing to Powerscourt Waterfall in Wicklow on Sunday September 27th.  This is Ireland’s highest waterfall and is set in the beautiful Wicklow Mountains so there is plenty to photograph there and on the way out or back!

Members Photographs – Tuesday, September 8th

Last week we took a look at some of the photos our members had taken over the summer break!  We would like to invite all of our members to bring along their photographs this Tuesday, September 8th.  So bring on your summer photos and any other photos you like – show off your work to the rest of the club!  If you’re new to the club, don’t be shy – there’s no better way to break the ice than showing us your stuff! Congratulations to Paddy Sayers on winning the “Glamour” themed one-shot competition.  Paddy has chosen “Music” as the theme for October’s competition.  Looking forward to seeing members’ interpretations of the Music theme. Coming up in September, we will be preparing for this season’s monthly league competitions and also the National Shield Club Competition coming up in November. Also this month we’ll take a visit to Ireland’s highest waterfall, Powerscourt Waterfall in Wicklow.  It is €5.50 to pay into the waterfall and there are also lovely walks by the river and in the woods.  This trip will take place on Sunday, September 27th!  More info later!
