TPS Outing Tuesday 26th July

Hi Folks, This Tuesday we will be heading to Lough Bray & Glencree, Co Wicklow. Not too far from Dublin, beside the Military Road (R115) is Glencree, a beautiful mini-lakeland. Lough Bray is actually two lakes, Upper and Lower, gouged from the granite by a glacier millennia ago. There should be plenty of opportunities for some great shots. Being the Wicklow mountains there surely will be midge about so bring some insect repellent. Meet at Malloy’s car park 7.30pm. See you then Neil

TPS Outing Tuesday 19th July

Hi Folks, This Tuesday we will be heading to the Blue Light Pub in the Dublin  mountains. The Blue Light is located 700 feet above sea level and offers the best views of any pub in Dublin. The name the “Blue Light” comes from the fact that a blue light used to be shone from the pub to let smugglers in Dublin Bay know the coast was clear. They would wait until the customs officers had gone home before notifying the smugglers waiting in Dublin Bay that it was ok to land their illegal booty!! There is a car park there that overlooks the city and we should get great views of Dublin City as the sun sets. It is supposed to be the hottest day of the year tomorrow so you will be able to quench your thirst with a creamy pint of Guinness once you have got your shots. Meet at Malloy’s car park at 7.30pm. See you then Neil

Meet in Molloy’s car park at 7.30pm sharp.  Then take the N81 towards Blessington.  After about 12km turn left onto the R759 (signposted for Roundwood, Manor Kilbride and Sally Gap) and just opposite a craft shop, Tramway Treasures and Crafts.  After about another 2.5km turn left, staying on the R759, just before entering Manor Kilbride.  The turn is signposted for Sally Gap and Roundwood.  Follow the road for about 4km and you’ll come to the bridge on a sharp right bend and you’re there!
