TPS Meeting Tuesday, 23rd October 2018

This week at the club we are having a practical night lead by Alice ably assisted by volunteers!! We will be concentrating on table top photography. There will be some basic set ups for those who are not confident or have never tried tabletop / indoor photography and a more challenging set up for those who are more confident, so remember to bring your camera and tripod!

Monthly League Competition Entry
This Tuesday is also hand in night for the Monthly League. Remember you can enter one photo in each of the three categories, Colour Print, Mono Print and Projected (Digital) Projected images can be either colour or mono. The Projected image must be a max of 2400px on the long side.

Printed images must be mounted on boards measuring 20 x 16 inches and must have a completed competition entry label affixed to the back. The label should be fixed to the top left hand corner so it is obvious which way the photo should be shown.

Please also remember to send in digital copies of your images.

The naming convention for all images being sent in digital format is as follows:

Member Number-Division-Title-Category

e.g 12345-Advanced-Selfie-Mono

One Shot Competition
Congratulations to Dave Meehan on winning the October One Shot. He wins a €20 photo printing voucher from Harvey Norman, Rathfarnham for his photo of “Curves”. He has chosen “Halloween” as the theme for November’s One Shot. For our newer members, the One Shot is a fun, themed competition run every month. The winner of one month sets the theme for and judges the next month’s competition. Only digital images are accepted and must be brought in on the night on USB. November’s One Shot will be held on Tuesday 13th November at coffee break.

Membership
We are fast approaching the end of October when fees for the 2018/19 year must be fully paid up. If you have not done so already please complete your membership payments by Tuesday 30th. As a club we rely on our members fees and the door cover to pay for speakers / judges / insurance / meeting room / IPF affiliation / external club competitions etc not to mention the tea coffee and chocolate biscuits!!

Podge Kelly Training Day
There’s still time to sign up for the Podge Kelly Training Day on November 10th….The day costs €15 including lunch and needs to be booked and paid for in advance Please find details attached.
We will need to send Podge three photos for him to work on for the session. We will send one each from a member in each division. If you are interested in getting one of your photos edited by Podge please give your name at the door at the club. We will put all the names into a hat and pull one for each division. Obviously you have to be attending the day to put your image in!!

See you all on Tuesday, 8pm Sharp at the Maldron Hotel.
