First Zoom club meeting

Just a quick note to say thank you to everyone who joined our inaugural meeting via Zoom last night.  We are in strange times and it was great to see so many taking part and to see that the usual banter and interactions can still take place in a virtual world!!  We had 27 members online.   Thank you to Patrick Kavanagh for judging last night, all the way from Kerry! Thank you to the club members for submitting digital photos for league entry this month. March league entry

Hope everyone is staying well and safe. The proposed format for March’s Monthly League is – You can enter one mono and one colour digital image.  These will be scored separately as Mono and Colour so in effect we are replacing our printed categories with digital images. Please email your entries by 8pm on Tuesday 24th March.  Usual rules of sizing and naming apply.  If you have any questions get in contact by email. We will send the images to the judge and will get back you individually with your scores. Best of Luck to all.

Club meetings cancelled

In light of Leo Varadkar’s comments yesterday, we have taken the decision to cancel meetings for the rest of March.  Nearer the time we will review again and let you know what is going to happen in April and onwards. We will come to a decision over the next week or so re the Monthly League so don’t stop looking at those photos!! Club members can keep in contact with the committee by email

TPS Meeting – 10th March

This week we welcome Barry O’Carroll to the club. Barry is a travel photographer from Dublin specialising in urban and landscape photography. You can see examples of his work at the following link –  https://bocphotography.com/ Tuesday is also one shot night, the theme is Urban Decay – the one shot is a themed, fun competition that we run each month. Please bring your entries on the night on USB – emailed entries are not accepted for one shot.The one shot will be judged by last month’s winner, Piotr Rak. A reminder that there is no meeting on Tuesday 17th March, hand in night will be on Tuesday 24th. See you all on Tuesday in the Maldron, 8pm sharp.

TPS Meeting 3rd March

This Tuesday we welcome Paul Stanley FIPF EFIAP/s EsFIAP back to the club. Paul is a member of Dublin Camera Club and has been involved in photography nationally and internationally for more than 30 years. He also serves on the IPF committee and was a founder member of Peoples Photography.  Thanks to those who completed the survey on the Library exhibition – great to get such positive feedback and some good ideas for next year’s exhibition.  The one shot competition will be held on 10th March,and the theme for this month is Urban Decay. Finally, in case you were thinking of volunteering, but hadn’t got around to it yet …… Buddy System: We have had a few new members join over the year and also have had enquiries.  We would like to try a Buddy System and are looking for volunteers.  This will not only include advice on photography etc but it would also be someone for new members to go to to ask questions about the club itself……If you would like to volunteer please speak to a committee member at club night Website member profile:We are hoping to start a section on our website that further showcases our members talent.  […]

TPS Meeting 25th February

This Tuesday is monthly league judging night – this month we welcome Adrian Hendroff, photographer and writer. The survey to get feedback from members on the running of the exhibition at the library will close next Tuesday. Thank you to those who have completed the survey, some interesting comments received! If you submitted photos for the exhibition and have not collected them, they will be available for collection at the end of the meeting next Tuesday.  The one shot competition will be held on 10th March, theme is Urban Decay. Photographic Exhibition Launch, February 2020

The second annual exhibition was launched on Tuesday 6th February 2020. The exhibition was officially opened by Tallaght Person of the Year, Lee Moroney. A good crowd of club members and their families attended. Thanks to club member David Turnbull for the photos. The exhibition in County Library Tallaght runs until 15th February.

TPS meeting Tuesday 4th February

Our annual exhibition in the County Library, Tallaght, will be opened by Tallaght Person of the Year, Lee Moroney, on Tuesday 4th February, at 6:30pm. Looking forward to seeing you, friends and family at the event. Regular meetings in the Maldron Hotel will resume on 11th February. A reminder that the next One Shot will be held on 11th February, and the theme this month is motion. See you in County Library, Tallaght, on 4th February!
