Hi Folks,
This coming Tuesday we will have our first guest speaker of the season, Gerry Andrews. Gerry has a specific interest in Photojournalism and Social Documentary photography and in 2012 he was awarded a Fellowship by the Irish Photographic Federation for his work in this genre. Later that year, he was awarded an Associate of the Royal Photographic Society for his work in Burma and in 2013 he was awarded an AFIAP by the Federation Internationale de L’Art Photographique.
Gerry’s photography is simply stunning and I am sure it will be a great night. If you would like to have a look at some of Gerry’s work here is a link to his website
The following week will be league entry night and I will be sending an email with some guidelines on competition entry later this week.  If anyone has any questions regarding league entry please ask me or any of the committee members on Tuesday night.

TPS New Season

Hi Folks,
Summer is drawing to a close and the evening’s are getting shorter but don’t worry as this means our weekly meetings resume in the Maldron Hotel every Tuesday evening. We meet at 8pm every Tuesday and we have a busy schedule between September & Christmas.
We will have guest speakers who will talk about and show their photography, we will have practical nights and we will have of course our competition nights where club members are encouraged to enter their photographs to be judged by an independent judge usually from another camera club.
We are also hoping to run a beginners course in photography after Christmas for new members and any other club members interested in attending.
Membership for the year will be €75 and there will be a €2 cover charge on the night.
So looking forward to seeing you all on Tuesday night and any new members are very welcome. If anyone has any queries please send an email to this email address.
Looking forward to seeing you all on Tuesday.

TPS outing Tuesday 23rd August

Hi Folks,
This Tuesday we will be heading to Carton House in Maynooth. Located 20 minutes from Dublin Carton House is a 1,100 acre parkland estate with lots of interesting photo opportunities. There is the iconic picturesque boathouse and the Tyrconnell Tower as well as Carton House it self which is a fine example of a Georgian Mansion.
The grounds and parkland with its lakes and waterways will make for some nice shots also.
We will meet at Molloys at 7.30 sharp and can car pool if necessary.

TPS Outing Tuesday 16th August

Hi Folks,
This Tuesday we will be heading to the Phoenix Park for our weekly outing.
The Phoenix Park is a huge park covering 707 hectares and there is plenty to see there. There is the Wellington Monument, the tallest obelisk in Europe, the papal cross which is another impressive structure. There is of course the Aras, home to President Higgins, and many other interesting buildings.
Wildlife in the park include Fallow Deer which roam the park and are quite tame so no need for huge lenses, Woodpeckers have been seen in the woods and there are resident Buzzards & Sparrow hawks. So all in all plenty to see and photograph. The weather forecast is looking good so hopefully there will be a nice sunset.
Meet as usual Malloy’s car park at 7.30.
See you then.
