This Tuesday is our first league judging night of the year and I delighted to announce that our first judge will be Gerry Kerr from Celbridge Camera club. Gerry’s photographic interests include people in their environment and the natural world.
Gerry was awarded his LIPF in 2005 and his Associateship in 2008 and if you would like to have a look at Gerry’s work here is a link to his webpage www.gerrykerr.com
For those of you that have not already entered please make a special effort to enter the TPS Salon that closes this week on the 26th September. Here is a link to the website www.tpssalon.com
There is a discount for club members and the more sections entered the cheaper the cost.
So good luck to everyone on Tuesday night and see you all there 8pm sharp.
This coming Tuesday is league entry night for the monthly league competition. We will also have our second guest speaker of the season Brian Hopper. If you take a quick look at Brian’s website www.creatingapicture.com and click on the awards tab you will see that Brian has won an incredible amount of awards both nationally and internationally.
Brian received his Licentiate (LIPF) in 2003, Associateship (AIPF) in 2005 and his fellowship (FIPF) in 2007 from the Irish Photographic Federation.
I have attached the guidelines for competition entry again and please remember that we will need digital copies of your printed entries. Please email these images to firstname.lastname@example.org
This coming Tuesday we will have our first guest speaker of the season, Gerry Andrews. Gerry has a specific interest in Photojournalism and Social Documentary photography and in 2012 he was awarded a Fellowship by the Irish Photographic Federation for his work in this genre. Later that year, he was awarded an Associate of the Royal Photographic Society for his work in Burma and in 2013 he was awarded an AFIAP by the Federation Internationale de L’Art Photographique.
Gerry’s photography is simply stunning and I am sure it will be a great night. If you would like to have a look at some of Gerry’s work here is a link to his website www.gerryandrews.com
The following week will be league entry night and I will be sending an email with some guidelines on competition entry later this week. If anyone has any questions regarding league entry please ask me or any of the committee members on Tuesday night.
Summer is drawing to a close and the evening’s are getting shorter but don’t worry as this means our weekly meetings resume in the Maldron Hotel every Tuesday evening. We meet at 8pm every Tuesday and we have a busy schedule between September & Christmas.
We will have guest speakers who will talk about and show their photography, we will have practical nights and we will have of course our competition nights where club members are encouraged to enter their photographs to be judged by an independent judge usually from another camera club.
We are also hoping to run a beginners course in photography after Christmas for new members and any other club members interested in attending.
Membership for the year will be €75 and there will be a €2 cover charge on the night.
So looking forward to seeing you all on Tuesday night and any new members are very welcome. If anyone has any queries please send an email to this email address.
This Tuesday we will be heading to Carton House in Maynooth. Located 20 minutes from Dublin Carton House is a 1,100 acre parkland estate with lots of interesting photo opportunities. There is the iconic picturesque boathouse and the Tyrconnell Tower as well as Carton House it self which is a fine example of a Georgian Mansion.
The grounds and parkland with its lakes and waterways will make for some nice shots also.
We will meet at Molloys at 7.30 sharp and can car pool if necessary.
