This coming Tuesday we meet back in the Maldron Hotel for the first time in 2018. We also have our first guest speaker of 2018, Stephen Crozier of 360 DPI. Stephen is an expert on all things printing and will be sharing some tips and advise on how to get the best prints from your images. Taking a picture is one thing but printing a high quality image is not as easy as it seems.
Stephen has printed TPS panels in the past, most recently the shield, and has always done a fantastic job. Many photographers would also get their distinctions panels printed by Stephen as they trust his knowledge when it comes to printing. Its sure to be an interesting talk and no doubt Stephen will have plenty of tips on how to get the best out of your prints.
This Tuesday our guest speaker is Peter Gordon. Peter is primarily a landscape & travel photographer. Peter has travelled far and wide with his photography from the streets of Jaipur to the Nevada desert at the Burning Man Festival.

This coming Tuesday we have Daragh Muldowney as our guest speaker.
Daragh’s interest in photography originally developed, when he completed a Scuba Diving course in 1992, where he was awe struck by the experience of being under water. Life under the sea seemed like another world, where he made an instant connection with the elements.
Shortly after Daragh bought a Canon camera and the rest as they say is history. Daragh has travelled far and wide from the Sahara to Iceland and has captured stunning images from these contrasting landscapes and Daragh will be showing some of these images with us on Tuesday. No doubt it will be a great talk.

A couple of dates to note in November. The 14th November will see the “one shot” competition for November, the theme is “Timeless” and the images will be judged by Damian Rosinski who won Octobers competition. The winner will win a voucher for printing from Harvey Norman in Nutgrove. So plenty of time to get your images ready for the 14th.
Other dates to note league entry on the 21st and league judging is on the 28th so make note of those dates.
The National Shield will be held on the 26th Nov in the Castletroy Park Hotel in Limerick. TPS will be entering in the shield, hopefully both Colour & Mono sections.
We will also be organising a trip to Avoca in November (date to be decided). Avoca is a great area to try and photograph the Red Kite, a large bird of prey re-introduced to the area 10 years ago. Thankfully the re-introduction has been a success and Red Kites are commonly seen in Avoca and the surrounding areas. There are many other interesting features in the area including the old mining area and not to mention the Wicklow hills. More to follow when dates are decided.Read On
