TPS Meeting Tuesday 18th April

This Tuesday our guest speaker is Merv Colton. Merv and his wife Sarah travel around the world in their Unimog,  a huge converted truck. They have travelled around Europe, Africa and even South America in the Unimog and have lots of great images and stories from their travels. Merv spoke earlier in the year in the club and it was a great night. In the first talk Merv talked about travelling down the east coast of South America and this time he will be telling the story of the return trip up the west coast. No doubt it will be some story!!

TPS Meeting Tuesday 11th April

This Tuesday club member Mike le Page will be giving a Photoshop demo. Mike specialises in portrait photography and is very experienced in editing images in Photoshop. Mike will run through basic edits such as cropping, sharpening & colour adjustments. Mike will also explain composite images and will show how to create a good composite image. Mike will share his tips for improving your images and give them that boost that make them stand out. If you are interested in improving your Photoshop skills be sure to attend.

TPS Meeting Tuesday 4th April

This Tuesday our guest speaker will be Eimhear Collins. Eimhear is a Drogheda based photographer who’s photographic interests include seascapes, landscapes nautical photography and water photography in general. Eimhear was awarded her Licentiateship by the IPF in 2011. Eimhear has captured some stunning images of Irish landscapes and seascapes and has even travelled to Iceland to photograph the Northern Lights. It is sure to be a great night.

We will also hold the “one shot” competition on Tuesday. This months theme is garden birds and will the judge is last months winner Ciaran Tierney. With the weather being so pleasant lately I am sure there will be some great snaps.

TPS Meeting Tuesday 28th March

This Tuesday is competition judging night. Our guest judge this month is Paul Stanley AIPF EFIAP ESFIAP. Paul is a member of Dublin Camera Club and has been involved in photography nationally and internationally for more than 30 years. Paul also serves on the IPF committee and was a founder member of Peoples Photography. Paul has judged at the club in recent years and has always done a fantastic job with lots of helpful tips and advice.
The theme for next months One Shot Competition has been set and the theme selected by last months winner, Ciaran Tierney, is “Garden Birds”. So get your bird feeders out and set yourself up from the kitchen window and get snapping!!

TPS Meeting Tuesday 21st March

This Tuesday we will have Damien Wogan as our guest speaker. Damien is a landscape photographer based in Co Louth and his images of Ireland and beyond are truly inspiring. Damien has also published a book, The Cooley Peninsula – A Photographic Journey, a visual journey through the 4 seasons showcasing the natural beauty of the area. No doubt it will be a great talk.
Tuesday is also competition league entry night. Please ensure your images are mounted etc. in accordance with the guidelines prior to bring to the club on Tuesday. You can mail your digital image to the competitions email address or bring on the night on a USB stick. Judging will take place the following Tuesday 28th March.

TPS Meeting Tuesday 14th March

This Tuesday we will be looking at preparing images for the monthly league competition. We have had some new members joining in recent weeks and Tuesday night will be for the new members to explain how to prepare your images in line with the club rules on competition entry. So we will look at re-sizing images, we will look at saving images with a view to printing and we will also look at some basic edits that will improve your image.
We have had a couple of nights showing how to mount images onto the mounting boards so will briefly explain this process and can have a demo of cutting a bevelled mount board.
