End of Season!

Party and Awards It’s that time of the year again!! Time to party and find out the results of the League. On Friday 24th we will have our end of year party and prize giving ceremony in Molloys, kicking off at 20.30. There will be a change to “Photographer of the Year”. This year there will be a photographer of the year in each section – so 3 trophies. There will be prizes for the winners in each of the 3 sections of competition in Novice, Intermediate and Advanced divisions. Fridays party will be the highlight of the year and is always a great night so pencil it in to your diary!! One Shot We have a slight change to this month’s one shot. We will have it at the party. Please print your entry and bring it along on the night for Paddy to judge. The theme is “Composite Photo”. Tallafest We are looking for volunteers to organise a stall for TPS at Tallafest on 22nd June. TPS Meeting Tuesday, 14th May 2019

We are NOT meeting in the Maldron Hotel on Tuesday the 14th. Instead Mark Pollock will lead us on a walkabout in Tallaght. This will afford members the opportunity to get to know the local photography spots and also take photographs to put forward for consideration for our 2020 Calendar. Meet at the car park at Molloys Bar at 7.30pm. One Shot and Party We have a slight change to this month’s one shot. We will have it at the party on the 24th May. Please print your entry and bring it along on the night for Paddy to judge. The theme is “Composite Photo”. A big thank you to Andrew and team for all the hard work in preparing the panels and giving up their time to present them in Mullingar over the weekend. Looking forward to seeing you all on Tuesday.

TPS Meeting Tuesday, 30th April 2019

This Tuesday at our weekly meeting in the Maldron Hotel, we have our last Monthly League Judging night of the season. We welcome Deirdre Byrne from Palmerstown Camera Club to do the honours for us. May One Shot – Tuesday 14th May Paddy won the April One Shot with his interpretation of the theme “Reflections”. He has set the theme for May as “Composite Photo”. TPS Meeting Tuesday, 23rd April 2019

This Tuesday we have 3 things going on in the club: 1. We are having an EGM to vote on two proposals (agenda sent by mail). Remember this is your club and these are your decisions to make so please come along on Tuesday to vote. 2. If the EGM finishes early we will have a members constructive criticism session! If you have any photos that you think maybe you would like to enter in the league but are unsure about them, bring them along on USB and we will show them onscreen. You can talk about them or keep it anonymous, it’s your choice. Bring in a max of 10 images, depending on how many are brought in we might limit how many are shown 3. Tuesday is League Entry night so don’t forget to bring your printed and digital images. Information re labelling of images in post dated 16th April. See you on Tuesday at 8pm sharp.

TPS Meeting Tuesday, 16th April 2019

This Tuesday at our weekly meeting in the Maldron Hotel we welcome Paul Stanley Stanley FIPF EFIAP/s EsFIAP. Paul is a member of Dublin Camera Club and has been involved in photography nationally and internationally for more than 30 years. He also serves on the IPF committee and was a founder member of Peoples Photography. Paul is going to talk to us about how the IPF Distinction process works so this will be of benefit to anyone going for distinction whether for the first time or not. He is also going to show us some successful panels. Notice of upcoming events: Tuesday 22nd April: EGM to put forward two Proposals to the members – see attached for Agenda. We would appreciate it if as many members as possible attended this EGM. Remember this is your club and these decisions are ultimately yours. Members will be asked to vote on both proposals on the night. If you have any questions you would like to ask before the EGM please feel free to ask a member of the Committee. TPS Meeting Tuesday, 9th April 2019

This Tuesday at our weekly meeting, in the Maldron Tallaght we welcome back Stewart Kenny from Dublin Photography School. Having given us a masterclass on Composition the last time, this time Stewart is going to concentrate on his own photography. Stewart specialises in black and white landscapes and travel photography. TPS Meeting Tuesday, 2nd April 2019

This Tuesday at our weekly club meeting, at the Maldron Tallaght, we are running an Interclub Competition with Clondalkin Camera Club. We have selected 10 Colour and 10 Mono photographs, and Clondalkin has done likewise. They will each be judged on the night by an independent judge and the club with the most points at the end of the night is deemed the winner. Michelle LaGrue has very kindly agreed to judge for us. There are a lot of images to get through so please arrive early so we can get started at 8pm sharp. I would just like to say a huge thank you and well done to member Alice O Brien who ran a beginners course on Saturday 30th March in the Library in Tallaght. By all accounts it was a very successful event so hopefully we’ll persuade Alice to run it again!! Mark Pollock will be accepting photographs of Tallaght up to September with a view to creating a Calendar for 2020. TPS Meeting Tuesday, 26th March 2019

This Tuesday at our weekly meeting in the Maldron Tallaght is our Monthly League Judging Night. This month Malcolm McCamley, FIPF has kindly agreed to do the honours. Malcolm’s photographic interests include Nature and Macro. If you would like to participate in the beginners course on March 30th, please give your name to Alice at the door on Tuesday. Marcin Ruta won March’s one shot and has set the theme for April’s One Shot as “Reflections”. The April One Shot will take place on Tuesday April 9th. TPS Meeting Tuesday, 12th March 2019

This Tuesday at the club we welcome Tony Murray from Technical University Dublin (Formerly DIT) to talk to us about image selection and editing in Lightroom. This Tuesday is also One Shot night.
