DESCRIPTION:IPF Distinction Celebration 3rd October\n\n\nIPF DISTINCTION CELEBRATION 3rd OCTOBER 2026 \nAt: The Dublin Digital Hub\, Roe Lane\, The Liberties\, Dublin 8 \nD08 TCV4 \nADMISSION FREE but you do need to register by filling out the Registration Form by September 30th. \nDoors open 10.30am \nAt 11.00am \nThe day will begin with talks by Anne Cassidy FIPF on Contemporary/Conceptual photography  and Paul Stanley FIPF who will clarify issues that arise in assessing distinction panels \n  \nFrom 12.30pm to 3.30pm \nFollowing the talks\, a selection of recently successful Associate and Fellowship panels will be on display for all to see.  The panels will encompass a broad spectrum of subjects and will show the quality and creativity that goes into successful distinction panels. \n  \nFrom 2.00pm to 3.30pm \nDistinction assessors will be available at the event to give one-on-one advice to prospective distinction applicants\, on all distinction levels. Advice will be given privately. \nPlease Note: \n\nThe advice will be given on prints only.  Digital images\, on whatever medium\, will not be advised on.\nRegistration will close on 30th September 2026.

SUMMARY:Patryk Gizicki – Photography Journey
DESCRIPTION:Patryk Gizicki\, a 25-year-old photographer\, born in Poland and immigrated to Ireland during his childhood. In 2023\, he completed his Bachelors in photography at Technological University Dublin. Currently\, Gizicki is dedicated to advancing his artistic vision through his ongoing Graduate Project\, ‘Stay Forever More\,’ a body of work that has received support from both The Arts Council Ireland and an artist residency from Photo Museum Ireland.  \n\nGizicki’s photographic practice encapsulates a compelling blend of personal narrative and visual exploration. Rooted in his multicultural background\, his work seeks to bridge the gap between his Polish heritage and Irish upbringing. With a keen eye for colour honed through his analog practice\, Gizicki captures moments that reverberate with universal themes of personal experience\, belonging\, and the passage of time. \nPatryk’s exhibition history as of now consists of group shows and initiatives\, with his most significant display to date being the Talents 2024 show in Photo Museum. This is an exhibition of new work developed through the Early Career Artist Award\, an annual mentorship residency for the most promising photography and media graduates from across the island of Ireland. Previously Patryk exhibited internationally at the Ireland’s Eye exhibition in the ISA Art Gallery in Jakarta\, Indonesia. \n​

DESCRIPTION:Laura Nadal is a French Dublin-based artist and photographer working primarily with analogue photography. She holds a First Class Honours degree in Communications and Media Production from Griffith College Dublin (2026). Her practice explores notions of belonging\, heritage\, and family through documentary and diaristic approaches\, creating intimate works that reflect personal and collective experiences. \nLaura is a member of Photo Museum Ireland’s Youth Panel since November 2025\, where she contributes her ideas and perspective while gaining experience in facilitation\, exhibition development\, content creation\, and digital engagement. \nShe is also an active member of Ireland Analog\, Ireland’s largest film photography community\, having joined in March 2025. As part of the team\, she organises monthly events and supports the coordination of the community’s social media presence. \nLaura develops independent photography projects while collaborating on community-led initiatives. She welcomes commissions\, editorial assignments\, and creative collaborations.

DESCRIPTION:Spencer’s work is about photography itself – why we believe the camera never lies and the vernacular expectations within that. All his images are constructed truths\, looking at the boundaries of photographic reality. Although a lot of the work is constructed\, and arguably fake\, it exists in the real world and in real time – with real people and things\, in real places\, doing real and often ordinary things\, but maybe in places we might not expect. This contradiction of what’s real and not real\, creates an uncertainty that should disconcert the viewer. The aim is to play with the assumptions of fact\, fiction and fake\, giving him the opportunity to weave in issues such as identity\, race\, nationality\, and control. \nBorn and now back living in Ireland\, he has lived in the UK\, Italy\, the US\, and Middle East. Spencer had a career as a publisher before returning to his art practice. He has a Fine Art degree and post-grad qualification from NCAD in Dublin. \nHis work is held in public and private collections in Ireland\, the UK and Europe.
