This Tuesday we will be having a still life and table top photography night so bring your cameras. We will set up some props and take some shots and try to get some interesting images. So if you have something you think will make an interesting shot and it is small enough to fit on a table bring it along.
If we have time we can maybe have a look at some of the shots taken on the night.
Well done to Damian Rosinski who won Octobers one shot competition themed “Connected”, Damian will now pick the theme for Novembers One Shot competition. I will send on details once Damian decides the theme.

Tuesday 24th October
This Tuesday we have our very own Steve McGrane LIPF giving a talk on his recent trip to Cuba, Steve specialises in landscape photography and will be showing some of his images from Cuba and telling the story behind them. As usual there will be a good story behind the images and a few adventures along the way to get the shots Steve was after. Steve gave a talk last year in the club and it was one of the highlights of the year so it is sure to be a great night!!
Tuesday is also league entry night. As usual there are 3 categories, printed colour, printed mono and a digital image that can be sent by email to firstname.lastname@example.org or brought to the club on Tuesday on a pen drive.
Tuesday 6th November
Our guest speaker this Tuesday is Tony McDonnell. Tony is based in Dundalk, Co Louth and has been taking pictures for over 20 years.
Tony has won numerous awards both nationally and internationally. With a great diversity of subject matter and shooting in both colour and monochrome Tony will be showing some of his best images and telling the story behind the images.
A couple of dates to note in November. The 14th November will see the “one shot” competition for November, the theme is “Timeless” and the images will be judged by Damian Rosinski who won Octobers competition. The winner will win a voucher for printing from Harvey Norman in Nutgrove. So plenty of time to get your images ready for the 14th.
Other dates to note league entry on the 21st and league judging is on the 28th so make note of those dates.
The National Shield will be held on the 26th Nov in the Castletroy Park Hotel in Limerick. TPS will be entering in the shield, hopefully both Colour & Mono sections.
We will also be organising a trip to Avoca in November (date to be decided). Avoca is a great area to try and photograph the Red Kite, a large bird of prey re-introduced to the area 10 years ago. Thankfully the re-introduction has been a success and Red Kites are commonly seen in Avoca and the surrounding areas. There are many other interesting features in the area including the old mining area and not to mention the Wicklow hills. More to follow when dates are decided.
